Abstract/Summary
This paper explores the factors affecting firms’ perception on how important barriers to
innovation are in the case of Cambodia. In particular, the study aims to bring the characteristics of Cambodian enterprises to the fore, shedding light on two issues: what the
characteristics associated with firm’s perceptions of barriers to their economic and business
operations are, and whether differences among their geographical location exist in relation
to their assessment of how important such obstacles are. By using data from the World Bank
Enterprise Survey 2016 in Cambodia, as well as information drawn from the previous wave of
the same survey, the econometric analysis considers the complementarity among different
types of obstacles highlighted in the empirical literature as being important from drawing
policy implications.
